Michael Arrington warned us about what kind of traffic an article on Techcrunch can cause. I thought we were prepared but apparently we still underestimated it. The database server had some difficulties handling all the queries and gave a ‘Too Many Connections’ error for a while. I just fixed this so all seems to be fine now.

We were at the Techcrunch 8 party tonight and at 7:25 am New York Time Fleck was born. Michael Arrington pushed the button on Boris’ blackberry and the server got up! Marshal Kirkpatrick posted a blog on TechCrunch and off we went!!
The party was great, we were wearing white suits with white ties and we were armed with permanent markers and one-inch Fleck buttons. It was great! Everybody was wondering what was up with those white suits with all those email addresses on them.
We had a lot of fun and met a lot of nice people.
Kudos for the TechCrunch team.
So, you all got the chance to Fleck us in real life, now go Fleck the Web!

This is a photo of Michael Arrington about to push the one button on my Blackberry that opened up the Fleck.com service to the world.
More photos in the morning.

Only a few hours left and we will launch Fleck.com to the public. We will be at the Techcrunch party wearing white suits and People will be able to write their emailaddress on our suits in exchange for a free PRO account.
Hopefully Michael Arrington will be available to push one button on my Blackberry which will switch a 0 to a 1 in a database somewhere which will change everything. From that moment on you will be able to browse the whole site.
The Estimated Launch Time (ELT?) will be between 7pm and 8pm New York (EST?) time.

We gave a lot of bloggers a beta account so they could test our service before we went live. And we urged them not to publish their articles before Techrunch posted their article. Apparently Pete couldn’t control himself any longer and I had a misunderstanding (see comments) and he published his post moments ago. This is unfortunate and I regret it happened.
Fleck will go live in a few hours during the Techcrunch party in New York.
(Pete’s post is very well written and I am really happy with the article now that I read it! If only… sigh…)

In 45 minutes ill do a live interview, over the phone, with dutch radio. That means I have 30 minutes left for lunch. Minus 5 minute walk to and from the restaurant that I picked for lunch. When I get back Patrick and Robert are going for lunch. They are working now.
Arjen is in bed, sick. I don’t know what is wrong with him (jetlag, nerves, flu) but he threw up this morning and doesn’t feel good at all. Poor guy.
